What may be sent to AI
- For optional final review, only minimized structural signals: the review-format version, selected form names, language, local rule identifier, section and structural field location, and locally assigned severity.
- The version of the AI consent notice you accepted and a non-reversible hash of that notice. StatusShift does not send your consent receipt ID, user ID, or case ID.
- Basic instructions that limit how the provider may respond.
What is not sent for AI review
- Your saved answer values, including names, identification numbers, dates, addresses, immigration, family, travel, work, financial, medical, criminal, security, or persecution details.
- Your case ID, user ID, password, payment card number, uploaded documents, or evidence.
- The full decrypted intake or duplicated travel records.
- Rule identifiers for sensitive identity-matching, eligibility, derivative-screening, fee-waiver and financial, or persecution-country travel checks. Those checks and their wording stay local.
Why we use AI
Local rules find the structural review signals. If provider review is available, AI may help phrase those already-identified signals in plain language.
Important limits
- AI can be wrong or miss a problem.
- AI does not provide legal advice.
- AI does not replace your review, USCIS instructions, or advice from an immigration attorney or accredited representative.
- You are responsible for checking the final packet before signing and mailing it.
Your choice
You must check the consent box before running the AI review. If you do not want AI review, do not check the box. Some non-AI parts of the app may still work, but AI features will not run without consent.
Adult account holder requirement
AI review is available only through an account used by a person who has confirmed that they are at least 18 years old. This is about the account holder, not the applicant. An adult may prepare forms involving a child, but a person under 18 may not use the account or AI feature.
Google Gemini and provider data handling
StatusShift uses the paid Google Gemini Developer API, currently pinned to model gemini-3.5-flash-lite (Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite), for optional final review. Under Google's paid-service terms, Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve Google products and are processed under Google's applicable data-processing terms. Unless Google approves zero data retention for the project, Google retains prompts, contextual information, and generated responses for 55 days for abuse monitoring; authorized Google personnel may review flagged content. Google may still keep or process limited usage, safety, and operational information for service operation, security, or legal obligations, including in countries where Google or its agents operate. StatusShift does not promise zero provider retention.
StatusShift sends minimized structural signals directly from the StatusShift server to the paid Google Gemini Developer API. Saved answer values are not sent. Provider calls require your current consent and a current adult account-holder attestation. StatusShift does not locally log AI prompts or responses. If any check fails, only local deterministic review runs. We will update this notice before a material provider, model, storage, or data-use change.
