What to know about StatusShift and its guided form-preparation process.

What is StatusShift?

StatusShift is self-help software that uses your answers to prepare the USCIS forms supported by its guided asylee packet process. You—not StatusShift—review, sign, and file the packet.

Is StatusShift a law firm?

No. StatusShift is not a law firm and cannot give legal advice. We help you fill out forms using your answers. If your case is complicated, talk to an immigration attorney or DOJ-accredited representative.

Who is StatusShift for?

StatusShift is for people granted asylum whose complete travel history after the grant and other answers fit this guided preparation process. A screening result does not predict what USCIS will decide.

What forms are included?

Your packet can include I-485, I-693 Part 1, G-1145, and, if selected, I-912. If I-765 is included, the PDF includes separate mailing instructions.

How does the I-693 medical form work?

We fill out Part 1 of the I-693 for you. A doctor approved by USCIS (called a civil surgeon) will do your medical exam and seal the form. Do not sign the I-693 before seeing the civil surgeon.

Do I need to sign digitally?

No. USCIS needs you to sign with a pen on the paper forms you mail. Print your forms and sign them with black ink before you send them.

What are the total costs?

StatusShift costs USD 39 for the main applicant, plus USD 29 for each family member applying with you. USCIS fees are paid directly to USCIS unless USCIS approves a fee waiver. StatusShift does not collect USCIS fees.

Can I include family members?

You can check whether a spouse or child you report fits StatusShift's guided family-member process. Each person needs a separate questionnaire and packet, and adds USD 29 to the StatusShift fee. This check is not a legal eligibility decision.

What if I have criminal history or complex issues?

The product-fit check flags supported facts you report that may need individual legal review. It does not decide admissibility or legal eligibility. If a fact is outside the guided process, packet preparation stops and we direct you to legal help.

What languages are available?

StatusShift is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese (Brazil). The Spanish and Portuguese versions use plain words and metric units where helpful, instead of only translating the English words literally.
